In Avengers: Endgame, why did Thanos not try to stop Tony’s snap?
In the battle between Avengers and Thanos, Thanos is doing absolutely everything in his power to get the gauntlet and snap again. He was so incredibly close, hell he already connected the two fingers half-second before Captain Marvel stopped him from snapping. He then threw her away and almost snapped yet again before Tony intervened. GOD DAMN IT HE THEN SNAPPED FOR REAL … AGAIN!!!! Right after the stones were taken by Tony making the gauntlet useless.
He himself stated before, in Infinity war - “I know what it’s like to lose”. I think that was it, that was him giving up or rather what I’d like to think - at that second he acknowledged that no matter how hard he fights, how hard he tries - they will always stop him.
Also remember when Tony snapped and Captain America exchanged that look with Thanos? Thanos then sat down and that was it. That acknowledgement - he lost and he knew it.
